Lake Murray

Lake Murray is the largest man-made lake in the southeastern United States. It is located near Columbia, South Carolina, sports approximately 50,000 acres in size and has roughly 500 miles of shoreline. It was impounded in the late 1920’s to provide hydroelectric power to the state of South Carolina. The lake has become a recreational attraction with public swimming areas, fishing, and boating being popular activities.
